Shanita Jetha, a student from Harrow, plans to trek Machu Picchu in September 2016. Shanita, alongside a team from Warwick University, is raising funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK, who grant wishes to children fighting life threatening illness.
Shanita is studying politics at Warwick University and is currently the Head of Politics for the World Youth Organisation. Through her work for the World Youth Organisation, Shanita has developed great opportunities for young people wanting to get involved in politics and plans to continue the development of these opportunities through the 6 day trek of Machu Picchu, Peru.
All funds generated by the trek will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the UK. The fundraising website JustGiving is collecting donations for the trek at www.justgiving.com/Shanita-Jetha.
Alongside this, Shanita is involved in preparing the launch event for the World Youth Organisation charity on 11th January 2016. The launch will take place at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. As a member of the Youth Parliament, Shanita will be encouraging the formation of political opportunities for young people at the launch event and how they can extend to young people in Harrow.
